Artist Blog Reopen after four year hiatus

      So I haven't updated this blog in over four years and in the honest truth it's mostly because of two reasons. The first being I've been very busy with Tumblr, DeviantArt, and life in general. The second being I honestly nearly forgot I had a blog site.

So as a way to catch up I decided to reopen this blog for announcements and minor updates on my projects.

 So in these past four years I began to explore other methods of coloring in photoshop and in style of my artwork. Of course it's not much but I'm working at it.

This piece was inspired by one of my favorite musicals Little Shop of Horrors. I fell in love with drawing Audrey II and felt it would be sweet to draw Audrey herself.

Foxy The Pirate (Five Night's at Freddy's), Eventually I will get around to redrawing this one.

                                                     

So around 2013/2014 I managed to read almost all of Wizards of Mickey or at least whatever was available in print at the time. I have to say I really love Clarabelle's design in the comics.

Ugh.. some of the proportions of this piece needs a lot of work on but it was an attempt to draw Turanga Leela from Futurama. Oh well I can try again.

So as of today April 29, 2015 , this blog is officially reopened for posts. :)

Interstellar Detectives

In the previous post I wrote about an upcoming Disney fan comic titled Interstellar Detectives.

Tad Stones (the one responsible for the awesome Darkwing Duck series) concieved the idea of Horace Horsecollar becoming an intergalatic hero. Although the original premise was rejected in the early 1990's and then a second time in 2006, it wasn't completely forgotten by some. I didn't know about it until a little after Christmas.

I looked through many forums about what they thought. Some of the comments I read were on the lines of " I would've love to seen it." "That sounds a little stupid." "Horace needs more attention!" "Why did they reject it!"

So reading the premise I figured how the style of the story would be like and began to make designs of how Horace would look like.

This was the final design.

The story taking place sort of like the Roger Rabbit thing of him being abducted by aliens in the Disney studios lot was a bit questionable. When I tried to adapt the original premise as a comic it didn't go so well. Cause at one point I wanted to stretch the story, to see more of Horace's emotions to his situation and a side story about Clarabelle tryin to cope with Horace's disappearence.

The story took a few turns and I too almost scrapped it. But I thought what if he had a partner. Suddenly the story's cast of mainly aliens and just Horace, to now adding another Disney character to the lineup : Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.

Oswald and his appearence

The Idea of adding Oswald in the story originated from the fact that Horace and Oswald never really got the popularity they deserved, so this was an oppurtunity to do so. Oswald would not be the only one to join as the newer premise began to form...

Ortensia and Clarabelle's appearence

Ortensia Rabbit made her first appearence in the Oswald short Oh, Teacher. According to the Disney archives her original name was Fanny Cottontail, was changed recently to Ortensia. The Girls were added not just part of the main cast but also for a side story. I won't say much but you'll find out why.

Ortensia was developed as just another love interest for Oswald but I ended up giving her a personality. That she was the hard working and social type, Ortensia was a very extrodinary seamstress. You will actually see more of this later on in the series.

Clarabelle gets her chance to be heroic, for her skills in this series is a nod of James Cameron's Avatar. But her and Horace's story will develop as well.

I though this was cute. Well I had visioned Ortensia (Oswald the Lucky Rabbit's Girlfriend) to be a semi-parallel verison of Minnie although she is friends with her, she is best friends with Clarabelle Cow. So the story within in this drawing was a wealthy lady hired Ortensia to make a dress from yarn. Though she doesn't know why, she begins to knitting this whole gown for about 72 hours. With very little sleep, she finished the dress and delivers it.



This one here is for a future Fan-Comic soon to be on DevianART. The series is entitled "Interstellar Detectives", and was inspired by a rejected series for the Disney Afternoon series called "Maximum Horsepower". Maximum Horsepower was a series meant to explain Horace Horsecollar's disappearance in 1942, that he was abducted by aliens who needed a champion to take down an evil tyrant. Interstellar Detectives however takes place years after Horace returns to Earth, a little after Oswald the Lucky Rabbit returned as well.

The story goes as Horace is trying to rebuild his life after being in space for so long, slowly he begins to notice alot of things had changed after he was abducted. The one thing that bothered him when he returned was, "What happened to Clarabelle". One day his friend Oswald shows him a mysterious summons notice that seems not of this planet, Horace ultimately calls it a bluff;But once again Horace is abducted along with Oswald to farthest corner of the galaxy to be trained as Interstellar Warriors at first. The two team up to find out that Clarabelle and Oswald's sweetheart Ortensia are here as well. After saving them, they accidently catch two notorious criminals and become Interstellar Detectives.

The rest of the series would have focused on their crime stopping adventures around the universe, and a few secrets being uncovered.
